Synopsis

Romanian auteur Cristian Mungiu, who won the Palme d’Or for ‘4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days’ in 2007, comes back to Cannes rivalry with an ethical quality play based on an oppressive father quick to get his little girl into a British college at any cost.

Subsequent to winning the enormous kahuna in 2007 for 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days and returning in 2012 with Beyond the Hills, Cristian Mungiu contends at the end of the day for the Palme d’Or in Cannes with Graduation (Bacalaureat). In spite of the fact that this most recent realist cut of life fulfills on many levels, fans expecting another scorcher from one of the Romanian New Wave’s chief association executives are probably going to feel somewhat baffled. This investigation of a family under weight feels peculiarly low-octane for a story that envelops sudden vandalism, criminal debasement, and an endeavored assault.
